Hi I'm the Artist, I would like to give you a brief history about myself. I was born on July 9th 1956 in a house in Stanway Road, Ely, Cardiff, South/Wales, UK. To John and Jean Wakeham, who named me Gary, they both said that I was always drawing from a young age, I remember being very good at art in school and was that boy with felt tip pens in my pocket, drawing tattoo's on other boys arms at playtime. I left school with 4 G.C.E's and 1 O'level grade A in art, but was refused entry into art collage, I needed 5 O'levels. I became a decorator and art took second place to chasing those nice young lumpy females. At 22 I met my wife Gail, we have 3 great kids, Kelly who's now 16 and showing great talent in art, Kai 14 who also shows good drawing skills and Chay 11 who loves playing outdoors all the time. In 1990 Gail had an operation and needed to rest for several months after, I stayed at home to help and had some time on my hands, so I started painting. As a result we have produced this collection of my art for you to view. Family and friends persuaded me to show my work at a local library, the response from you the public gave me the confidence I lost at the art collage rejection. So we put together this web site, hope you enjoy my images and please remember they are just images. |
